Privacy Policy
This Privacy Policy explains how Matt Peretz (“we,” “us,” or “our”) collects, uses, and protects information in connection with JARVIS, a personal automated-assistant service that delivers SMS text notifications to the account owner. By enabling SMS notifications, you agree to the practices described below.
The short version: We use your mobile number only to send you the notifications you signed up for. We do not sell or share your information — including your phone number or SMS opt-in — with anyone for their marketing. Reply STOP to opt out at any time, or HELP for help.
1. Information We Collect
We collect only the information needed to operate the notification service:
- Mobile phone number — provided by the account owner to enable text-message delivery.
- Message and delivery data — the content of notifications we send and basic delivery status/logs (e.g., sent, delivered, failed) returned by our messaging provider.
- Account/service data — the information the assistant already works with on the owner’s behalf (such as calendar, email, and task summaries) that may be referenced in a notification’s text.
2. How We Use Information
We use this information solely to deliver the SMS notifications the owner has opted into, including:
- Time-sensitive alerts (for example, stock/market alerts and flagged emails needing attention);
- Daily schedule briefings and end-of-day summaries;
- Service and account messages related to the operation of the notification program.
These messages are informational and transactional — they are not marketing or promotional messages.
3. How We Share Information
We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information. No mobile information — including your phone number, SMS opt-in, or consent — is shared with third parties or affiliates for their marketing or promotional purposes.
We share information only with the service provider that makes message delivery possible: our SMS gateway, Twilio, which transmits the messages to your mobile carrier. Twilio processes this data solely to deliver messages on our behalf and under its own privacy commitments. We may also disclose information if required by law or to protect our legal rights.
4. Message Frequency & Rates
Message frequency varies based on activity (for example, alerts fire only when a qualifying event occurs). Message and data rates may apply according to your mobile carrier plan. We are not responsible for carrier charges.
5. Your Choices — Opt-Out & Help
You may stop receiving messages at any time by replying STOP to any message; you will receive a single confirmation and no further messages unless you opt back in. Reply HELP for assistance, or contact us at me@mattperetz.com.
6. Data Retention & Security
We retain message and delivery data only as long as needed to operate the service and meet legal or record-keeping requirements, after which it is deleted or de-identified. We apply reasonable administrative and technical safeguards to protect the information we hold; the SMS auth credential used to send messages is stored privately and is never published or shared.
7. Children’s Privacy
This service is intended for the account owner and is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
8. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by updating the “Effective” date above. Continued use of the notification service after an update constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
